TPE Challenge

K, it has been a ridiculously long time since I've played along with a Pink Elephant Challenge. Seriously, really LONG.... I was super excited to see that the task was to create a birthday card. My birthday stash is virtually nonexistent, so I knew I'd better get crackin'!!

I pulled out a MUCH neglected Unity stamp from one of the past KOTMs. Then I pieced together paper from a really cute pack of K.E.I (I think) paper that I scored for 50% off. I then colored the cakes with Copics and added some sparkle.

Off to make a few more!
Enjoy!

Ready for February?

Hi all! So, no Royal Kat Monday for me today. For some reason the post office doesn't believe that I live here and hasn't delivered my last 3 packages. Oh, I've received plenty of packages from other places but not from QKD for some reason. Grrr.... So please head over to the beginning of the hop and check out all of the creations of the other DT members!

Instead I have a little something I whipped up using one of my much neglected Kim Hughes sets.

I colored the birdies with Copics and the paper is from the new Bo Bunny line. CUTE!

Well, that's all for now!
Enjoy!!

Some oldie oldies...

I have SO many pictures that I never got posted to ye olde blogeroni. I guess that I should be thankful that I actually remembered to take pictures Eh?

So, back in December I attended a craft show with a friend of mine at her work. It was a hand made show that was specifically for the employees to sell their wares OR for friends of employees to bring their stuff and help fill the table. Grin..

This was the first time I'd ever sold handmade stuff at a show, it's always been Homemade Gourmet so I wasn't sure what to expect. Also, I wasn't feeling too hot so I had fewer items than I would have liked. First up is Santa!! I made him by cutting out a boat load of Top Note dies in various colors and embossing them for a little texture.

Then I stuck a giant candy cane through the top of his head.

Next I had some frappuchino bottles that I filled with homemade hot chocolate. I'll be honest, I don't care for the cold coffee in the bottle so I bought a package on sale and dumped the drink. They were $4 so I figured that a $1 a bottle wasn't too bad. I used a cute cocoa stamp from 2 scoops of rice I love food with faces..

Next I had a few nugget tins left over that I Christmased up. I bought the felt flowers off Etsy from CarefreeGlimmer Aren't they cute??!!

Then I made some smaller cocoa cups.

And lastly I decorated some of the Target mailboxes I had left over from last year.

I filled them with a few Lindt truffles I picked up at the outlet mall. They were the first thing I sold out of.

I also had some chocolate dreidels that I didn't get a picture of... All in all it was a pretty successful day. I ended with more $ that I came with and my box was a lot lighter when I left. Pretty cool if you ask me.:)
Alright, off to make another post!
Enjoy!

A little nugget of wisdom

Happy New Year!!

Kev and I decided to take a spur of the minute trip to Atlantic City last week where we promptly had our asses handed to us. Perdon my French. :) Got back and we have a visitor for a few days. So, lots of stuff going on right now and more to post in the near future, just not quite yet.

In the mean time our guest had a fabulous quote which she has been attributing to my hubby for years but he claims it wasn't him. Regardless, it's a FANTASTIC observation and I shall give it to kev.

Royal Kat Wednesday!

Yikes! I can't believe that it's the last Royal Kat Wednesday of the year! Holly cow, where did the time go?? Hopefully you arrived here from the WIS site. If not, get on back to the beginning and see what you've missed! Not only is it the last RKW for the year, but the last in the foreseeable future. We're moving the hops to Monday and Tuesday on 2010 and I'll be posting on Monday instead. So mom and my other blog reader, look for me then! HA!

Anywho, today's task was to use the spotlight technique. Basically you spotlight a portion of the image. Pretty self explanatory. Grin.... I used my Frozen Dragon to for this one.

I colored him with copics and highlighted his face by punching it out and matting it with a red circle. I punched out a few snow flakes for a little embellishment and bling. This was a super easy and fun technique. You also may notice that my picture isn't all yellow and dark. Could it be that I was on the ball and finished my post ahead of time and was able to take a picture while it was still light out? Nope! Kev got me a light tent for Christmas and I am SO excited! Tools to assist with procrastination! YEAH!!! (just kidding, really, it makes nicer pictures too...)

So, before you head out, there is a HUGE sale going on right now, you get 40% off past kits, 40% off ALL stamps and a free personalized stamp. Holly cow! That's an awesome deal! I would go shopping with that extra Christmas money if I were you!

Now, your time with me is really over, so scoot on over to Nina and see what sorts of awesome she has waiting for you!

Enjoy!

Ready for Christmas?

Gack, can you believe that Christmas is next week?? Where has December gone? Thankfully I am pretty much done with Christmas shopping. All the packages are packed, wrapped and mailed off. Kev's presents are tucked away waiting to be wrapped. The trees are up, and I might actually make a cookie or two. Crazy huh???

So, I've been in a bit of a funk lately and in an attempt to cheer me up, Kev took me to see Phantom of the Opera last night. Now. my musician hubby DESPISES Andrew Lloyd Weber. Despise being a kind word... needless to say I was pretty excited! It's been at least 10 years since the last time I'd seen the show and the touring company that came to Durham was fantastic! The singers were quite excellent and Kev had a good time! The final verdict was that the first act was much better than anticipated and the second act was as bad/a little worse than anticipated. Overall he said it was slightly better than expected. A success in my book!

So, to celebrate last night's success, how about a few Christmas cards? I made these 2 a while ago using some Hero Arts stamps from Archivers.

The designer paper is from Basic Grey, I believe from the Eskimo Kisses line. I stamped the image in Ripe Avocado ink. Then I colored the balls with a Copic marker. For a little extra glitter I added some gold accents with a gold Spicia pen.

Again with the Hero ares birdy who I colored with my Copics. It's hard to tell from the picture but the leaves in the paper are kind of a sage / light blue color. That's why I paired it with Aqua Mist paper and ribbon from PTI. It's really cute in person and this one went to my grandma!
Alrighty, I think I want to make some peanut butter balls. Wish me luck!
Enjoy!

Royal Kat Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!! How's your holiday preparations been going? I think I'm finally done with the family, now to wrap and mail them off! Any who, welcome to the QKD blog hop! Hopefully you arrived here via the WIS blog. If not, head on back to the beginning and check out what you've missed! Today's theme was to make a creation using blue, white and grey.

I again used my frozen dragon stamp! Isn't he cute?? I colored him with my Copics and matted the image with grey paper. I'm not sure if you can tell, but the designer paper is flocked and is super soft to the touch. Add a few punched snowflakes and there you have it!

If you like this stamp, head on over to the store and take advantage of the awesome Cyber Sale
