Royal Kat Switcheroo

Welcome to Royal Kat Tuesday! That's right, Tuesday. We decided to move up the Wednesday hop a day because of the holiday. We figured that everyone would have WAY too much to do tomorrow and might miss the awesome hop. As so, I hope you arrived here via Andrea's blog. If not, head on back to the beginning and see what you've missed!

This week we had a fantastic image for our inspiration. I decided to keep it nice and simple for my interpretation. I used some fantastic designer paper from my stash paired it with the Congratulations sentiment from the Friends set.

Again, plain and simple, I just love how this could be mass produced for birthdays or thank you cards.
Well, that's all for me, head on over to Anessa and see what she has waiting for you!! Ooo, and here's the list in case you get lost!
Enjoy!!

Dreaming of a Pink Christmas!

Hey all!! Phew, i have been feeling like doody for the last few weeks. Bleck, bleck, bleck... We just got back from our whirlwind holiday trip. I love our families but i am SO happy to be home in my own bed with my kitties! They are definitely happy to see us. Right now I have two sleeping on the couch with me. Grin..

I also had a fabo birthday! Kev had the Tiffany fairy make a visit... Sigh, I love when the Tiffany fairy stops by. All in all it was a great birthday!

So, how about a little something I made earlier in the month? I used the Winter Swirls set from PTI. I took the mitten and embossed them with silver powder.

Then I paired it with some fantastic paper from Cosmo Cricket.I just love how this one turned out. Such fun colors and the bling just makes me happy.

Come on back tomorrow and I'll try and have a little something else up for you! Enjoy!!

Special Thursday Hop!

What??!! Back again?? Oh yes I am! You see, today marks the 3rd birthday of Queen Kat Designs and we are having a PARTY!! If you haven't seen, you MUST head on over to the QKD Blog and check out all the challenges! There are some FANTASTIC prizes to be won, run on over and see what's up for grabs! I'll wait.... toodely doo... waiting... You back? Excellent!! In honor of the celebration, we are having a blog hop to announce a NEW DESIGNER!! Gack, yes we are!! Her name is Kelly Kost and her stamps are in the store for you to grab up! So,you should have arrived here from Anessa's blog, if not, get back to the beginning and see what you've missed!

I was lucky enough to play with her Wizard of Oz set. Isn't that ADORABLE??? I colored the friends with my Copic markers and with my Cpoic Multi liner pen, drew in a yellow brick road. Oh yes, I did. Let me tell you, this is the extent of my artistic ability. I remembered perspective and tried to make the road look like it was disappearing into the horizon. Then my brain was in danger of exploding and I went back to coloring. I used some fun fall papers and bling to finish off the card.
Now, you might think I'm finished, no siree. I made 2, count em, 2 cards! Again I started off coloring the image with my Copics.
I colored their faces to make them look more like the characters instead of kids playing dress up. I also went a little more abstract with the road and instead of drawing, filled it in with goldish glitter. I pulled out some fun paper in my stash and added some bling!
Well, I hope you've enjoyed your stay with me! Get on over to Linda's blog and see what she has waiting for you!
And in case you get lost, the links and hop order is below!
Enjoy!

Royal Kat Wednesday!

Wednesday again??? Yes it is!! Welcome to Royal Kat Wednesday!! Hopefully you've arrived here from Andrea's blog. If not, head on back to the beginning and see what the other ladies have waiting for you!!

Today's theme was to use the QKD colors which are pink, purple and grey. I used those colors to color Bunny Chan.

After I colored her with my Copics, I masked off the image and used my SU! spritzer to give that speckled look. I added some fun felt pieces to add a little interest and texture.

Well, that's all for me today, head on over to Anessa and see what she has waiting for you!

And in case you get lost along the way, here's the complete hop!

Enjoy!

A few Chirstmas cards?

Happy Saturday! I thing that it's FINALLY stopped raining here and after 3 days the sun is out! Nice! Of course we still have to do some tidying around the house, it's gotten a little messy here over the last few days.

I am a little bummed out, tomorrow is the 30 anniversary party of the Founding of Xi Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority at the University of Pittsburgh. The current girls are hosting a huge brunch tomorrow and tonight a bunch of alum are having a party at Peter's Pub. I am SO bummed that I couldn't make it. I was just in Pittsburgh last month and we are heading up for Thanksgiving next week, but there are a TON of people going who I haven't seen in YEARS. Sniff, sniff, I hope they have an AWESOME time tonight and tomorrow!

So, how about I show you a few Christmas cards instead?? For both I used supplies from Papertrey Ink. All the card stock, stamps, designer paper and even the buttons came from there. :)

This one I went up and down. See?

And this one is horizontal. See the similarities? Well, I did use a Kraft base on this one. See, slightly different..
I really love this color combo. It is fantastic! I was pretty bummed that I ran out of Ripe Avocado ribbon while making this last card. Boo... I need to get some more.

Alright, that's all for me, have a great night!

Royal Kat Wednesday!

Can you believe it's that time again??? Yes sir, Royal Kat Wednesday!! This week we had a super fab sketch to play with! Hopefully you arrived here via Andrea's blog! If not, head on back to the beginning and see what the other ladies have created!!

For mine, I decided to play with the Cabaret Fairy. I also used a background stamp from the June Bird set

Please pardon the picture, it's really dark here! So, I colored her with copics and used some designer paper from my stash. I also used More Mustard and Chocolate Chip paper.

She was tons of fun to create! I hope you enjoy her! Well, my time on the hop is through, head over to Anessa and check out how awesome she is!!

And in case you get stuck, here is the entire list!

One more Challenge!

That's right! I have yet another challenge down! The theme of this one was Coffee, tea or me. In a nutshell, it had to feature coffee beans, tea bags or a picture of moi. I went with coffee and me!

Do you see the resemblance? I looked just like this at about 8am this morning. Sad and armless without a shirt... Just kidding! I stamped Joe the Monster on Kraft card stock and colored him with a few copics. I stamped a polka dot border and added some vintage buttons. Then I glued a few beans into the center of the buttons! They smelled SO GOOD sitting on my desk, YUM!

Well, I have a giant pile of clothes to be folded and washed, I have to get working on them before Kev buys a new wardrobe because he can't find his!
Enjoy!

What! Another Challenge

Yes it is! Another challenge for QKD in the books! This one was to make a 3D Thanksgiving project, I was really stumped on this one for a while and then I had a flash of smart!

PUMPKINS! Pumpkins ate thanksgiving-y, right? As I'm typing this I realize that a 3D Thanksgiving project could have actually been a Birthday themed since my birthday is on the 26th this year! Well, I have a pumpkin instead... Anywho, I used the Fancy Swirls stamp for this project.
I stamped the image over and over in Dusty Durango ink on Dusty Durango paper. Then I cut it lengthwise into 1 inch strips. I actually used about 1 1/2 pieces of card stock since I wanted it to be a little fuller. I punched a hole at the top and bottom of each piece and secured them together with a giant brad. When you fan them out, pumpkin! I used a flower punch and some curled strips of card stock for the top.
These are SUPER easy to make and I can see myself filling a basket with them as a centerpiece!

I hope you enjoy!

QKD Challenge #2

Happy Friday! I am gearing up for a rather uneventful day. Well, I do need to do some job stuff and I think I'll go to Barnes and Noble and take up space in their cafe. I get too distracted at home between Kev and the kitties..

Anywho, here is day 2 of the QKD challenges. We were to take a non-holiday stamp and make it into a holiday card. I chose Dotty Bird for this one.

I stamped her with Old Olive ink and added some bling. I cut out the birdie and mounted her on a cute piece of card stock from Cosmo Cricket. A few buttons and voila! a cute Christmas card!!

The cool thing about Dotty is that she's on SALE! If you purchase 2 stamp sets you get a separates stamp FREE! Dotty is a separates stamp and she can be all yours!! The sale ends on the 7th, so head on over there while you still can!

Enjoy!

QKD Challenge

Is it still Thursday?? Phew! Ms Queen Kat issued a few challenges to the Royal Stamping Maids for the weekend. One of them was to create a project using inchies or twinchies or pinchies, or whatever they are. Grin... I have NEVER played with inchies before so this was like venturing into the great unknown...

I kinda altered the inchie into an inch-and-a-quarterie. The only square punch I have is 1 1/4. Grin... I was looking through my QKD stamps and I thought that the tops of these palm trees looked like the flowers on my designer paper. (Do you see it?) Work with me folks... I colored the trees to match the paper. I really love is color combo of taupe, chocolate brown, gray and cream.

So, I originally had 3 trees but decided to remove the center one and add these sentiments from the Seals set. I think it adds a nice touch with the bling.

Well, that's all for tonight, be sure to stop back tomorrow and see if I pull out another challenge!
Enjoy!

Gotta make the Christmas Cards

Christmas cards, what??!! Yes, I'm getting an early start this year. Last year I was makin' cards up until December 20th. This year I picked up the new Vintage Ornaments set from PTI. Yeah, I totally LOVE this!

Yeah for non-traditional Christmas colors. I went with Raspberry Fizz and Chocolate Chip for this one. I also found a glittery button in my stash. So happy....

So today Kev and I ran my car over to the body shop, let's just not ask why OK, let's just say that I need to get a punch card for that place... Perhaps after a few visits I get the next one free. Ehhh? Anywho, it;s supposed to be finished in 2 days, I asked them to promise that it wouldn't take a month this time. They said it wouldn't, I think I might reduce my payment for every additional day...

Needless to say, I am car-less today while Kev goes to work and ti play tennis. I guess I could get on my bike if I was so inclined but I doubt it.... I guess I shall focus on the job search. I let the kitties outside since they were running around like crazy. Hopefully they haven't escaped into the woods...
Have a great day!
Enjoy!

Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! Kev and I decided to dress up and go to dinner then to a party after. We went to the Halloween store and got Kevin a costume. He wanted to have crazy hair so we built his costume around that. He He... I wanted to be a witch and have Godiva be my black kitty. Let me tell you, she did NOT want to cooperate.

We got dressed and ready for the trick or treaters and took some pictures. When I went to get the kitty she yelled "no, no, no" (Yes, Godiva talks) I explained that she only needed to sit still for one picture.
Then there was Kev..
He was an evil Proctologist, complete with bloody finger... I kid you not.
The funniest part for me was that he didn't wear pants. Just shorts hidden under his lab coat.

Yep, that's my hubby!

We got all dressed and had the candy waiting and NOT A SINGLE kid came to the house. We live in a subdivision in a cul-du-sac. Not a single stinking kid.. I was a little annoyed until we went to the party.
Believe it or not, Kevin WON FIRST PLACE! Yep, $250 for his costume! He beat out Jesus and 2 guys from the Big Lebowski. I think the bloody finger pushed him over the top... Ewww
K, I have to get to work on this cup of coffee!
Enjoy!
