A few more pink ribbons

Can you believe that October is almost over? YIKES!! You know what that means... Celebration of my Birthday Month! I am a firm believer in extending the celebration as long as possible, in fact, I really think I should have the 12 days of Lara's Birthday leading up to the glorious day. Kevin tends to disagree... To hear him tell it, I am a little "difficult to handle" when it comes to presents. Heh... This year it's on Thanksgiving and Kev is shipping my present to his mom's house since hee doesn't want to ride 11 hours in the car with me if I know there's a present nearby. Heh...

K, we still have 2 days before we start the Birthday Month celebration, so how about a few more pink ribbon cards? The first one I just adore. The paper is from PTI and even though it's a Christmas DP, I think it's perfect year round.

I framed the image with a cutout from my Slice. (LOVE the design!) The image and sentiment are by Stampendous and I got the set at Archivers.

For the second one I used the same ribbon stamp and some older DP from Stampin Up!

I dug through my scrap pile and found 1 piece of pink cardstock that matched the designer paper. I was pretty excited! The bling excited me too... It really doesn't take much any more.

Well, I have a few design things to work on as well and some projects for Made by Hand. I guess I have to get working on Christmas now! YIKES!!

Have a good night!

Royal Kat Wednesday

Can you believe that it's Wednesday already? You know what that means, another edition of Royal Kat Wednesday. Hopefully you've arrived here from Andrea's blog. If not, please be sure to head back to the beginning so you don't miss a thing!

This week was to draw inspiration from this fabo image chosen by Maria.

I decided to use Melody the Mermaid for my card this week and drew my inspiration from the pink and purple stripes.
You know I HAD to get in one last Halloween card in before the end of October. Is;t she beautiful?!! I colored her with my Copics and mounted the image on some Basic Grey designer paper. For an additional accent I used my Martha Stewart cobweb punch and since she still needed a little more bling, I attached part of a crystal cobweb.

Well, your time with me is through, your next step is Anessa! I know she has something awesome waiting for you!!

Oooo, and in case you get lost, here's the complete list! Enjoy!

More Kitties!

So, I had to make more than one black kitty card. For this one I used a Whipper Snapper set that I had gotten last year.

I love the cheezy grin on the kitty's face. I paired it with some fun paper with glitter pumpkins. and used my Martha Stewart cob web punch. Now, let's see if we can get these mailed before Halloween, me thinks I need some stamps.

As I was taking some pictures this morning, I was reminded by one of the kitties that he was being neglected. I think he's exaggerating but I took a picture just the same.

That's Luger, and he is a fluffy cutie. Can you believe that he's ONLY 6 months old??!! This kitty is going to be a tank!!

Alrighty, have a great afternoon!!

TCP Tuesday

I realized today that I hadn't made a single black kitty Halloween card this year. GASP! If you weren't aware Kevin and I share the house (and my side of the bed) with a very stubborn and opinionated black kitty. As a matter of fact, she's commandeered my chair as I type this post. The Steeler game was making me nervous (and Kev is either yelling NO or GO right now) so I came up to the craft cave to make some cards. Godiva loves to jump in my chair the minute I get up, as a result, I'm on the floor right now. I think we need to have a conversation about priorities.

Anywho, this is what I came up with for this week's TCPTUES challenge.

I pulled out that Cuttlebug embossing folder which I LOVE and only manage to use on one card per year. Then I mounted some fun paper from Basic Grey on top and stamped a few Devil Kitty Sprinkes. I think I'll send this one to Grandma, she'll definitely like it!

K, gotta run, we're heading back to the NC state fair on the last day. Gotta get my share of fried atrocities before it ends tonight!
Enjoy!

Pink Ribbon Bellas

I was looking through my stamps and realized that my Bellas had been severely neglected. Poor Bella. I just adore the Bella with awareness ribbon and had to pull her out. My card have been selling like crazy in Oxford and I had some requests for Breast Cancer Awareness.

I kept her pretty simple and colored her with Copics. I then added some crinkly ribbon on the bottom which happens to match the pink in that old SU! designer paper.

Since I was so happy with the first one, I had to make 2!
For this Bella I again colored her with Copics but mounted her on PTI's new Scarlet Jewel paper. PTI also has some fantastic designer paper for the holidays but I love that it can be used for so many other occasions.
Well, I needed to make this quick, we have a birthday party tonight and I needed to get cracking on my Christmas cards!!
Enjoy!

Special Hop to welcome a new designer!!

Hi all! Over at Quenn Kat Designs we are SO excited to be welcoming a new designer to the crew! Her name is Melia Newman and she creates the CUTEST fantasy images!! Well, Ms Queen Kat herself asked if we could perhaps do a mini blog hop to welcome Melia to the group. I fell in love with these dragons and of course had to say yes!

So hopefully you've bopped here from Helene's blog. If not, please scoot on back to the beginning and check out all of the fantastic creations!

Thanksgiving Dragons! GACK, how cute are they?? I just love this couple, especially since they are defying their parents with a forbidden love affair. Yellow Pilgrims and orange Indians?! This goes to show that nothing can stop true love. Grin...

I pulled out some SU! paper that I'd been hoarding since last year and colored my dragons to match. Sigh, fall colors make me so happy... You know what else makes me happy? A SALE, yep, the two stamps that are being released today are on sale for 30% off as well as the two alphabet stamps that Queen Kat used on the card for the QKD blog today. The best part? Suzy Homemaker?

I just sat down and wrestled the laptop away from Kevin. As I sat down Kevin declared that today was one of my top 10 Suzy Homemaker days. Huh. It's well known around these parts that I am not a domestic goddess. I despise cleaning and really don't understand cooking. Meat baffles me and I am far better at ordering off a menu. You spend an hour or 2 cooking dinner to eat it in 20 minutes then another 30 minutes to clean up the kitchen.

Today I woke up and took some crafts to Oxford. Almost all of my Halloween cards had sold and I wanted to get some more up there as well as some Breast Cancer Support cards. So, go there, then to Party City, then a little decorating. Get home and I decided to make some low fat banana bread using a recipe from the "Hungry Girl Cookbook" (LOVE this cookbook!!!) Then I made dinner and as part of dinner I decided to see if I liked butternut squash. Again using the Hungry Girl Cookbook I peeled, sliced and grated a squash and fried them like hash browns. VERY tasty but I'm not sure if the healthy benefits outweigh what a PAIN it is to prepare... Then make and clean up dinner. Ugh, where did the day go? I think I'd rather be Suzy crafter than Suzy Homemaker. Kevin would disagree...

So, how about a Halloween tag? This is one of my QKD creations using the Batwing Lolita stamp. I colored her with my Copics and adhered her to a tag.

I love the fall vibe. It makes me SO happy (as do those bats from my MS punch!) Well, I have a little more crafting to do! Have a great evening!!

TCP Tuesday!

Brrr! It is chilly here in NC, especially for October! Growing up in the north, this sort of weather was the norm, heck, I can remember fighting with my mom about wearing a coat over my Halloween costume. But a coat in NC in October? practically unheard of! I have broken out the heated seats in the Jetta. This is my first experience with heated seats and wow, does my hiney LOVE them!

Today I had great plans to sit on the couch and enjoy my sweatshirt and blanket. That didn't happen, we were having a code red diet coke emergency and we needed some creamer as well. So, a trip to Target then a trip to the vet. Titus has been wheezing and I wanted to get him checked out. He breathes like a fat kid in gym class. I should know, I was one. Grin...

I'm finally home and I have a crock of Trader Joe's french onion soup in the oven. YUM! Finally a use for my onion soup crock! While we wait, how about a little something for this week's TCP Tuesday Challenge? This week's task was to use buttons.

I pulled out my Fright Night set and inked up some ghosts that hadn't seen the light of day. See!! Gotta use all the stuff from last year! I paired it with some cute designer paper. I just love the big eyes on those owls!!

Since I liked the challenge so much, I decided to make 2 cards! This time I used some witchy leg paper. Witchy leg paper needs a witchy image, right?

I used my Slice to cut out the shape and stamped her with Palette Noir black ink. Then I colored her with my Copics. I discovered that unused stamps are just like new stamps! Right?!

Alrighty, my soup is ready! Have a good night!

Royal Kat Wednesday!

Welcome back to Royal Kat Wednesday!! Have you been enjoying the hop?? Perhaps you stumbled here first, in that case, you MUST head back to the beginning and check out all of the awesome projects you've missed!

Last Wednesday was release day and I think this was my most favorite set of stamps to date! (I know I say that every month, but I can't help it!) For today's hop we were given a sketch challenge. As I post this, I realize that I didn't quite follow the sketch to a tee... Can we call it artistic license. Yep, that sounds good... Artistic License...

I am SO in love with this! The paper is from Basic Grey and I am so thrilled with the way it coordinates with Vampire Girl. I made this card a bit larger than normal (5.5 inches square) to be able to show off the image, the paper and the accessories. I colored her with Copics to coordinate with the paper. I added a rub on with rhinestones, a rhinestone sentiment and some flowers. I really like how this one turned out and I hope you do too!!

Well, your time with me is over, so head over to Anessa and see what she has waiting for you!
Enjoy!

Pink Elephant Challenge

Yawn! I was up a little late last night cause the mojo was flowing! (and the kitties were running all over the craft room...) I wanted to participate in this week's Pink Elephant Challenge and I directed my creative juices towards making something with a Fall theme. Yeah, not hard to do...

I brought out my new Fall Elegance set from PTI, which I LOVE and paired it with some fantastic paper from Basic Grey. These colors are definitely a little out of my comfort zone but I'm loving the orange and pink with a hint of grey. Who knew??

The colors did help inspire the sentiment which I thought was perfect for this time of year which is "Season of Hope" I was definitely inspired by this being Brest Cancer Awareness month. This is going to Oxford to Made by Hand and I hope someone will love it as much as I do.

Even though I was up late, Godiva decided that I needed to be up at 8:30am. I think I need more coffee!
Enjoy!

Picnic Party

Today was the anual Kappa Delta Alumnae Association Picnic and this year I hosted. It was the first time I've had a soroity event on the new patio. I made KD sugar cookie which are just cookies cut out using the KD cookie cutter. Super cute but a pain to ice. Thankfully they were well received and everyone ate several, then I made the guests take the extra ones home. Yeah!!! That only leaves about 6 in the house.

Since I am lovin the fall I had to show off a little something I made for Halloween. Have I mentioned receintly that I love Halloween and fall crafts???

This is the cutest color combination! Gray, orange and this purple color that absolutely coordinates with the new Scarlet Jewel from PTI. I realized that I hadn't inked up this cute witch from TCP even though I got her last year. Gasp! I colired her with my copics and added a rhinestone sentiment.

Well, tomorrow I'm heading to the Farmer's Market with some friends> I promised Kevin his annual apple pie and I need some apples. I also have a recipe for butternut squash hash browns. I don't think I like squash but maybe some super tasty recipe will turn my taste buds around!

Enjoy!

Fall trees

Yesterday I went to Target to get some hair spray and Count Chocula. Hey, the unemployed girl has to find ways to fill the day. So, I headed back to the holiday section and what appeared before my eyes? Christmas!!! What the heck??!!! It's OCTOBER 9th! Can we at least wait until the end of the month? I haven't even put up my Halloween decorations yet. I think I'll go sit on the porch and shake my fist at people who walk past.

Instead I made a card to celebrate fall. I know that I have to get started on my Christmas projects but I'm gonna hold off just a little longer. So I pulled out one of my stamps from the Unity KOTM and paired it with some delicious Indian Summer paper from Basic Grey (LOVE THIS!)

I colored the tree with my Copics and then I amazed myself by tying a bow with polka dot ribbon and only showing the dots on the knot. I know I will never be able to duplicate that..

Alrighty, I have a chiropractor appointment in a few,
Enjoy!

Royal Kat Wednesday and NEW RELEASES!!

Welcome to Royal Kat Wednesday!! If you weren't aware, the first Wednesday of the month is when we as a design team get to show off the new stamps for the month. Hopefully you arrived here from Victoria's blog. If not, scoot on back to the beginning and check out all of the great new stamps! I say this every time but this release is truly my absolute FAVORITE to date!! We are introducing a new line of Magna stamps from artist Che Gilison I am SO thrilled to have been given the Top Hat Lolita to play with this month.

Since I have been on a huge Halloween kick, I had to make a tag using her and some funky designer paper. I'm on vacation at my parent's house so I'm having to be a bit more creative with my supplies. No matter how hard you try to plan, you can never bring enough....

I had an absolute blast coloring her with my Copics. After finishing, I cut her out and adhered her to a tag I had covered with Basic Grey paper. Then I cut strips from another piece of dp and placed them on a diagonal. The skulls are cut outs and I found the flowers in my mom's craft supplies.

Well, that's all for me today, I hope you love her as much as I do! Now run on over to Anessa! I can't wait to see what she has in store for you!

Spooky Skully

Hidey Ho! I decided to make some posts to keep both of my faithful readers occupied while I'm away. This time I've headed up to see the parents in Pittsburgh.

So, how about a little card using a SU! set? This image totally cracks me up.

I used some super cute designer paper and layered it with black card stock. This was pretty simple. I stamped Mr Skully and colored his doggie with Copics. Add a few flowers and glittery chipboard and there you go.
Well today I have a fun filled day planned with some old friends. Hope you enjoyed the card!
