Royal Kat Wednesday!
Anywho, today's task was to use the spotlight technique. Basically you spotlight a portion of the image. Pretty self explanatory. Grin.... I used my Frozen Dragon to for this one.
I colored him with copics and highlighted his face by punching it out and matting it with a red circle. I punched out a few snow flakes for a little embellishment and bling. This was a super easy and fun technique. You also may notice that my picture isn't all yellow and dark. Could it be that I was on the ball and finished my post ahead of time and was able to take a picture while it was still light out? Nope! Kev got me a light tent for Christmas and I am SO excited! Tools to assist with procrastination! YEAH!!! (just kidding, really, it makes nicer pictures too...)
So, before you head out, there is a HUGE sale going on right now, you get 40% off past kits, 40% off ALL stamps and a free personalized stamp. Holly cow! That's an awesome deal! I would go shopping with that extra Christmas money if I were you!
Now, your time with me is really over, so scoot on over to Nina and see what sorts of awesome she has waiting for you!
Enjoy!

Ready for Christmas?
So, I've been in a bit of a funk lately and in an attempt to cheer me up, Kev took me to see Phantom of the Opera last night. Now. my musician hubby DESPISES Andrew Lloyd Weber. Despise being a kind word... needless to say I was pretty excited! It's been at least 10 years since the last time I'd seen the show and the touring company that came to Durham was fantastic! The singers were quite excellent and Kev had a good time! The final verdict was that the first act was much better than anticipated and the second act was as bad/a little worse than anticipated. Overall he said it was slightly better than expected. A success in my book!
So, to celebrate last night's success, how about a few Christmas cards? I made these 2 a while ago using some Hero Arts stamps from Archivers.
The designer paper is from Basic Grey, I believe from the Eskimo Kisses line. I stamped the image in Ripe Avocado ink. Then I colored the balls with a Copic marker. For a little extra glitter I added some gold accents with a gold Spicia pen.

Royal Kat Wednesday
I again used my frozen dragon stamp! Isn't he cute?? I colored him with my Copics and matted the image with grey paper. I'm not sure if you can tell, but the designer paper is flocked and is super soft to the touch. Add a few punched snowflakes and there you have it!

Royal Kat Wednesday!
For this project we had a lovely sketch to play with. Sometimes I have trouble "staying within the lines" so, um I took a little artistic license with this one.
I used the Frozen Dragon stamp which is brand new this month and colored him with Copics to match the sparkly paper that I picked up this evening. Since the dragon looked so cold, I figured he must have been standing in snow so I used white puff paint to make my drifts. To finish it off, I added a Happy Holidays rub-on. I really debated adding the strip on the side as the sketch call for, but I didn't want to cover up any more of the paper. (Also, please pardon the lighting. It's pretty late here and the natural light has been gone for HOURS.)
Well, that's all for me, Your next stop is Anessa! Go see what she has waiting for you!
Enjoy!

Just hear those sleigh bells jingling...
So, how about a little Christmas card to get me in the mood? I used the Giga Guidelines set from PTI for the background and stamped it using Baja Breeze.
I then stamped the ornaments with Baja Breeze and the sentiments are stamped with SU! Basic Grey. I layered the Basic Grey paper and I added a scalloped edge of grey as well. Then I added a bow and ribbon. There is a whole lot of business going on with this card and I just love the way this one turned out!
I have to get working on some projects for a craft show next week. I have a pile of half finished Santa heads here and I'd better get working!
Enjoy!

Royal Kat Wednesday!
This month I got to play with the new Frozen Dragon stamp. She is adorable!! and so fun for this time of the year!
I colored my dragon with my Copics to match this fun designer paper from Cosmo Cricket. The paper was my color inspiration. After coloring I attached her to a cutout from my Slice machine and added some glitter to the edge. I used my Slice again for the sentiment. I just adore these non-traditional Christmas colors, don't you??
