Royal Kat Wednesday!
Anywho, today's task was to use the spotlight technique. Basically you spotlight a portion of the image. Pretty self explanatory. Grin.... I used my Frozen Dragon to for this one.
I colored him with copics and highlighted his face by punching it out and matting it with a red circle. I punched out a few snow flakes for a little embellishment and bling. This was a super easy and fun technique. You also may notice that my picture isn't all yellow and dark. Could it be that I was on the ball and finished my post ahead of time and was able to take a picture while it was still light out? Nope! Kev got me a light tent for Christmas and I am SO excited! Tools to assist with procrastination! YEAH!!! (just kidding, really, it makes nicer pictures too...)
So, before you head out, there is a HUGE sale going on right now, you get 40% off past kits, 40% off ALL stamps and a free personalized stamp. Holly cow! That's an awesome deal! I would go shopping with that extra Christmas money if I were you!
Now, your time with me is really over, so scoot on over to Nina and see what sorts of awesome she has waiting for you!
Enjoy!

Ready for Christmas?
So, I've been in a bit of a funk lately and in an attempt to cheer me up, Kev took me to see Phantom of the Opera last night. Now. my musician hubby DESPISES Andrew Lloyd Weber. Despise being a kind word... needless to say I was pretty excited! It's been at least 10 years since the last time I'd seen the show and the touring company that came to Durham was fantastic! The singers were quite excellent and Kev had a good time! The final verdict was that the first act was much better than anticipated and the second act was as bad/a little worse than anticipated. Overall he said it was slightly better than expected. A success in my book!
So, to celebrate last night's success, how about a few Christmas cards? I made these 2 a while ago using some Hero Arts stamps from Archivers.
The designer paper is from Basic Grey, I believe from the Eskimo Kisses line. I stamped the image in Ripe Avocado ink. Then I colored the balls with a Copic marker. For a little extra glitter I added some gold accents with a gold Spicia pen.

Royal Kat Wednesday
I again used my frozen dragon stamp! Isn't he cute?? I colored him with my Copics and matted the image with grey paper. I'm not sure if you can tell, but the designer paper is flocked and is super soft to the touch. Add a few punched snowflakes and there you have it!

Royal Kat Wednesday!
For this project we had a lovely sketch to play with. Sometimes I have trouble "staying within the lines" so, um I took a little artistic license with this one.
I used the Frozen Dragon stamp which is brand new this month and colored him with Copics to match the sparkly paper that I picked up this evening. Since the dragon looked so cold, I figured he must have been standing in snow so I used white puff paint to make my drifts. To finish it off, I added a Happy Holidays rub-on. I really debated adding the strip on the side as the sketch call for, but I didn't want to cover up any more of the paper. (Also, please pardon the lighting. It's pretty late here and the natural light has been gone for HOURS.)
Well, that's all for me, Your next stop is Anessa! Go see what she has waiting for you!

Just hear those sleigh bells jingling...
So, how about a little Christmas card to get me in the mood? I used the Giga Guidelines set from PTI for the background and stamped it using Baja Breeze.
I then stamped the ornaments with Baja Breeze and the sentiments are stamped with SU! Basic Grey. I layered the Basic Grey paper and I added a scalloped edge of grey as well. Then I added a bow and ribbon. There is a whole lot of business going on with this card and I just love the way this one turned out!
I have to get working on some projects for a craft show next week. I have a pile of half finished Santa heads here and I'd better get working!
Enjoy!

This month I got to play with the new Frozen Dragon stamp. She is adorable!! and so fun for this time of the year!
I colored my dragon with my Copics to match this fun designer paper from Cosmo Cricket. The paper was my color inspiration. After coloring I attached her to a cutout from my Slice machine and added some glitter to the edge. I used my Slice again for the sentiment. I just adore these non-traditional Christmas colors, don't you??

Royal Kat Switcheroo
This week we had a fantastic image for our inspiration. I decided to keep it nice and simple for my interpretation. I used some fantastic designer paper from my stash paired it with the Congratulations sentiment from the Friends set.
Again, plain and simple, I just love how this could be mass produced for birthdays or thank you cards.

Dreaming of a Pink Christmas!
I also had a fabo birthday! Kev had the Tiffany fairy make a visit... Sigh, I love when the Tiffany fairy stops by. All in all it was a great birthday!
So, how about a little something I made earlier in the month? I used the Winter Swirls set from PTI. I took the mitten and embossed them with silver powder.
Then I paired it with some fantastic paper from Cosmo Cricket.I just love how this one turned out. Such fun colors and the bling just makes me happy.
Come on back tomorrow and I'll try and have a little something else up for you! Enjoy!!

Royal Kat Wednesday!
Today's theme was to use the QKD colors which are pink, purple and grey. I used those colors to color Bunny Chan.
After I colored her with my Copics, I masked off the image and used my SU! spritzer to give that speckled look. I added some fun felt pieces to add a little interest and texture.
Well, that's all for me today, head on over to Anessa and see what she has waiting for you!

A few Chirstmas cards?
I am a little bummed out, tomorrow is the 30 anniversary party of the Founding of Xi Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority at the University of Pittsburgh. The current girls are hosting a huge brunch tomorrow and tonight a bunch of alum are having a party at Peter's Pub. I am SO bummed that I couldn't make it. I was just in Pittsburgh last month and we are heading up for Thanksgiving next week, but there are a TON of people going who I haven't seen in YEARS. Sniff, sniff, I hope they have an AWESOME time tonight and tomorrow!
So, how about I show you a few Christmas cards instead?? For both I used supplies from Papertrey Ink. All the card stock, stamps, designer paper and even the buttons came from there. :)
This one I went up and down. See?
And this one is horizontal. See the similarities? Well, I did use a Kraft base on this one. See, slightly different..
I really love this color combo. It is fantastic! I was pretty bummed that I ran out of Ripe Avocado ribbon while making this last card. Boo... I need to get some more.
Alright, that's all for me, have a great night!

Royal Kat Wednesday!
For mine, I decided to play with the Cabaret Fairy. I also used a background stamp from the June Bird set
Please pardon the picture, it's really dark here! So, I colored her with copics and used some designer paper from my stash. I also used More Mustard and Chocolate Chip paper.
She was tons of fun to create! I hope you enjoy her! Well, my time on the hop is through, head over to Anessa and check out how awesome she is!!

One more Challenge!
Do you see the resemblance? I looked just like this at about 8am this morning. Sad and armless without a shirt... Just kidding! I stamped Joe the Monster on Kraft card stock and colored him with a few copics. I stamped a polka dot border and added some vintage buttons. Then I glued a few beans into the center of the buttons! They smelled SO GOOD sitting on my desk, YUM!
Well, I have a giant pile of clothes to be folded and washed, I have to get working on them before Kev buys a new wardrobe because he can't find his!
Enjoy!

What! Another Challenge
PUMPKINS! Pumpkins ate thanksgiving-y, right? As I'm typing this I realize that a 3D Thanksgiving project could have actually been a Birthday themed since my birthday is on the 26th this year! Well, I have a pumpkin instead... Anywho, I used the Fancy Swirls stamp for this project.
I stamped the image over and over in Dusty Durango ink on Dusty Durango paper. Then I cut it lengthwise into 1 inch strips. I actually used about 1 1/2 pieces of card stock since I wanted it to be a little fuller. I punched a hole at the top and bottom of each piece and secured them together with a giant brad. When you fan them out, pumpkin! I used a flower punch and some curled strips of card stock for the top.
These are SUPER easy to make and I can see myself filling a basket with them as a centerpiece!
I hope you enjoy!

QKD Challenge #2
Anywho, here is day 2 of the QKD challenges. We were to take a non-holiday stamp and make it into a holiday card. I chose Dotty Bird for this one.
I stamped her with Old Olive ink and added some bling. I cut out the birdie and mounted her on a cute piece of card stock from Cosmo Cricket. A few buttons and voila! a cute Christmas card!!
The cool thing about Dotty is that she's on SALE! If you purchase 2 stamp sets you get a separates stamp FREE! Dotty is a separates stamp and she can be all yours!! The sale ends on the 7th, so head on over there while you still can!

QKD Challenge
I kinda altered the inchie into an inch-and-a-quarterie. The only square punch I have is 1 1/4. Grin... I was looking through my QKD stamps and I thought that the tops of these palm trees looked like the flowers on my designer paper. (Do you see it?) Work with me folks... I colored the trees to match the paper. I really love is color combo of taupe, chocolate brown, gray and cream.
So, I originally had 3 trees but decided to remove the center one and add these sentiments from the Seals set. I think it adds a nice touch with the bling.
Well, that's all for tonight, be sure to stop back tomorrow and see if I pull out another challenge!
Enjoy!

Gotta make the Christmas Cards
Yeah for non-traditional Christmas colors. I went with Raspberry Fizz and Chocolate Chip for this one. I also found a glittery button in my stash. So happy....
So today Kev and I ran my car over to the body shop, let's just not ask why OK, let's just say that I need to get a punch card for that place... Perhaps after a few visits I get the next one free. Ehhh? Anywho, it;s supposed to be finished in 2 days, I asked them to promise that it wouldn't take a month this time. They said it wouldn't, I think I might reduce my payment for every additional day...

Happy Halloween!

Then there was Kev..

A few more pink ribbons
K, we still have 2 days before we start the Birthday Month celebration, so how about a few more pink ribbon cards? The first one I just adore. The paper is from PTI and even though it's a Christmas DP, I think it's perfect year round.
I framed the image with a cutout from my Slice. (LOVE the design!) The image and sentiment are by Stampendous and I got the set at Archivers.
For the second one I used the same ribbon stamp and some older DP from Stampin Up!
I dug through my scrap pile and found 1 piece of pink cardstock that matched the designer paper. I was pretty excited! The bling excited me too... It really doesn't take much any more.
Well, I have a few design things to work on as well and some projects for Made by Hand. I guess I have to get working on Christmas now! YIKES!!
Have a good night!

Royal Kat Wednesday
This week was to draw inspiration from this fabo image chosen by Maria.
I decided to use Melody the Mermaid for my card this week and drew my inspiration from the pink and purple stripes.
You know I HAD to get in one last Halloween card in before the end of October. Is;t she beautiful?!! I colored her with my Copics and mounted the image on some Basic Grey designer paper. For an additional accent I used my Martha Stewart cobweb punch and since she still needed a little more bling, I attached part of a crystal cobweb.
Well, your time with me is through, your next step is Anessa! I know she has something awesome waiting for you!!

More Kitties!
I love the cheezy grin on the kitty's face. I paired it with some fun paper with glitter pumpkins. and used my Martha Stewart cob web punch. Now, let's see if we can get these mailed before Halloween, me thinks I need some stamps.
As I was taking some pictures this morning, I was reminded by one of the kitties that he was being neglected. I think he's exaggerating but I took a picture just the same.
That's Luger, and he is a fluffy cutie. Can you believe that he's ONLY 6 months old??!! This kitty is going to be a tank!!

TCP Tuesday
Anywho, this is what I came up with for this week's TCPTUES challenge.
I pulled out that Cuttlebug embossing folder which I LOVE and only manage to use on one card per year. Then I mounted some fun paper from Basic Grey on top and stamped a few Devil Kitty Sprinkes. I think I'll send this one to Grandma, she'll definitely like it!
K, gotta run, we're heading back to the NC state fair on the last day. Gotta get my share of fried atrocities before it ends tonight!

I kept her pretty simple and colored her with Copics. I then added some crinkly ribbon on the bottom which happens to match the pink in that old SU! designer paper.
Since I was so happy with the first one, I had to make 2!

Suzy Homemaker?
Today I woke up and took some crafts to Oxford. Almost all of my Halloween cards had sold and I wanted to get some more up there as well as some Breast Cancer Support cards. So, go there, then to Party City, then a little decorating. Get home and I decided to make some low fat banana bread using a recipe from the "Hungry Girl Cookbook" (LOVE this cookbook!!!) Then I made dinner and as part of dinner I decided to see if I liked butternut squash. Again using the Hungry Girl Cookbook I peeled, sliced and grated a squash and fried them like hash browns. VERY tasty but I'm not sure if the healthy benefits outweigh what a PAIN it is to prepare... Then make and clean up dinner. Ugh, where did the day go? I think I'd rather be Suzy crafter than Suzy Homemaker. Kevin would disagree...
So, how about a Halloween tag? This is one of my QKD creations using the Batwing Lolita stamp. I colored her with my Copics and adhered her to a tag.
I love the fall vibe. It makes me SO happy (as do those bats from my MS punch!) Well, I have a little more crafting to do! Have a great evening!!

TCP Tuesday!
Today I had great plans to sit on the couch and enjoy my sweatshirt and blanket. That didn't happen, we were having a code red diet coke emergency and we needed some creamer as well. So, a trip to Target then a trip to the vet. Titus has been wheezing and I wanted to get him checked out. He breathes like a fat kid in gym class. I should know, I was one. Grin...
I'm finally home and I have a crock of Trader Joe's french onion soup in the oven. YUM! Finally a use for my onion soup crock! While we wait, how about a little something for this week's TCP Tuesday Challenge? This week's task was to use buttons.
I pulled out my Fright Night set and inked up some ghosts that hadn't seen the light of day. See!! Gotta use all the stuff from last year! I paired it with some cute designer paper. I just love the big eyes on those owls!!
Since I liked the challenge so much, I decided to make 2 cards! This time I used some witchy leg paper. Witchy leg paper needs a witchy image, right?
I used my Slice to cut out the shape and stamped her with Palette Noir black ink. Then I colored her with my Copics. I discovered that unused stamps are just like new stamps! Right?!
Alrighty, my soup is ready! Have a good night!

Royal Kat Wednesday!
Last Wednesday was release day and I think this was my most favorite set of stamps to date! (I know I say that every month, but I can't help it!) For today's hop we were given a sketch challenge. As I post this, I realize that I didn't quite follow the sketch to a tee... Can we call it artistic license. Yep, that sounds good... Artistic License...
I am SO in love with this! The paper is from Basic Grey and I am so thrilled with the way it coordinates with Vampire Girl. I made this card a bit larger than normal (5.5 inches square) to be able to show off the image, the paper and the accessories. I colored her with Copics to coordinate with the paper. I added a rub on with rhinestones, a rhinestone sentiment and some flowers. I really like how this one turned out and I hope you do too!!
Well, your time with me is over, so head over to Anessa and see what she has waiting for you!

Pink Elephant Challenge
I brought out my new Fall Elegance set from PTI, which I LOVE and paired it with some fantastic paper from Basic Grey. These colors are definitely a little out of my comfort zone but I'm loving the orange and pink with a hint of grey. Who knew??
The colors did help inspire the sentiment which I thought was perfect for this time of year which is "Season of Hope" I was definitely inspired by this being Brest Cancer Awareness month. This is going to Oxford to Made by Hand and I hope someone will love it as much as I do.
Even though I was up late, Godiva decided that I needed to be up at 8:30am. I think I need more coffee!
Enjoy!

Picnic Party
Since I am lovin the fall I had to show off a little something I made for Halloween. Have I mentioned receintly that I love Halloween and fall crafts???
This is the cutest color combination! Gray, orange and this purple color that absolutely coordinates with the new Scarlet Jewel from PTI. I realized that I hadn't inked up this cute witch from TCP even though I got her last year. Gasp! I colired her with my copics and added a rhinestone sentiment.
Well, tomorrow I'm heading to the Farmer's Market with some friends> I promised Kevin his annual apple pie and I need some apples. I also have a recipe for butternut squash hash browns. I don't think I like squash but maybe some super tasty recipe will turn my taste buds around!
Enjoy!

Fall trees
Instead I made a card to celebrate fall. I know that I have to get started on my Christmas projects but I'm gonna hold off just a little longer. So I pulled out one of my stamps from the Unity KOTM and paired it with some delicious Indian Summer paper from Basic Grey (LOVE THIS!)
I colored the tree with my Copics and then I amazed myself by tying a bow with polka dot ribbon and only showing the dots on the knot. I know I will never be able to duplicate that..
Alrighty, I have a chiropractor appointment in a few,
Enjoy!

Royal Kat Wednesday and NEW RELEASES!!
Since I have been on a huge Halloween kick, I had to make a tag using her and some funky designer paper. I'm on vacation at my parent's house so I'm having to be a bit more creative with my supplies. No matter how hard you try to plan, you can never bring enough....
I had an absolute blast coloring her with my Copics. After finishing, I cut her out and adhered her to a tag I had covered with Basic Grey paper. Then I cut strips from another piece of dp and placed them on a diagonal. The skulls are cut outs and I found the flowers in my mom's craft supplies.
Well, that's all for me today, I hope you love her as much as I do! Now run on over to Anessa! I can't wait to see what she has in store for you!
